INCOME TAX
INSTRUCTION NO. 1931/1995

Directorate of Income-tax (Systems) has informed that they have developed a software package for entry of AD & CR. They have also prepared operational instructions for implementing this package which include detailed description for data entry, data capturing and maintenance of back up on magnetic media.
2. The Directorate of Income-tax (Systems) has been directed to make available this package in a long with operational instructions to all Computer Centres of the Department on receipt of the software package arrangement may be made to the same immediately and if any problems are encountered in its implementation, you may get in touch with other Directorate of Income-tax (Systems).
3. All Assessing Officers may be directed to get the Arrear demand entries as on 1st April 1995 captured on computers with immediate effect either using the facilities of the Computer Centre or by out sourcing the work. After entries have been captured the same will be printed in the two formats all entries of arrear demand in the same sequence as AD & CR but in the new format of AD & CR prescribed by the Board and
(ii) All entries of arrear demand sorted according to name of assessees in alphabetical order in the new format of AD&CR prescribed by the Board. During the year, the Assessing Officer could note the details of collection/reduction manually in the printed format. At the beginning of April 1996 only the above details of collection/reduction as noted on printed Arrear and Demand format should be updated on computers in the same manner as being done this year.
4. This instruction is in supersession of Board's Instruction No. 1897 dated 31/8/92 issued from File No. 385/23/92-IT98).
